With its green Urban Jungle, CIC Rotterdam has been nominated for the Interior Green Decoration of the Year 2019 award. According to the professional jury of trade association VHG, CIC Rotterdam, like the two other nominees, is an inspiring example of a design where green in buildings adds value in very different ways: innovation, functionality, experience.

Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) and Kraaijvanger have been working together for some time to realize an ecosystem where start-ups can flourish in a flexible, innovative working environment. Start-ups focus on entrepreneurship, the rest is taken care of for them.

The 'Tubegardens' in the corridors, a plant wall and 'Plantchandeliers' with automatic watering in the kitchen are innovative green applications in the office landscape of CIC. Because plants purify and humidify the air and make the working environment healthier, they are important for the Urban Jungle. It is a green concept that Kraaijvanger developed together with Green Fortune.

The professional jury has assessed the projects on a number of aspects: design, technical realization, craftsmanship, applied planting, quality assurance, maintenance and PR value. The connection between green, functionality, environment and the elaboration of the original assignment have also been included in the assessment.

The award ceremony will take place in February 2019 during a festive gathering.
