The Groenewoud residential area has started

Groenwoud is becoming a neighborhood with lots of greenery and water and a public space with plenty of attention for moving and meeting, amounting to about 22 hectares. The program consists of 1,000 to 1,500 sustainable rented and owner-occupied homes with a primary school.

Kraaijvanger Architects is responsible for the design of the new residential area Groenewoud, Utrecht, together with Urbis and bureau Sant & Co. On Monday, September 3, there was a busy participation evening. Visitors gave input on questions about a healthy and green neighborhood, connecting the residential area with the office location and possible temporary infills for the asphalt plants. Development of new residential area 'Groenewoud' Earlier, the municipality of Utrecht, Loostad and KWS signed a letter of intent for the relocation of the Asphalt plant in Utrecht so that housing can be realized in the area north of the Prins Claus bridge. Housing construction in the area between Prins Clausbrug and Taatsendijk was included in the Leidsche Rijn Master Plan in 1995 (formerly Leeuwesteyn Zuid). The location on the Amsterdam Rijnkanaal, the proximity of facilities such as Kanaleneiland Shopping Center and the Leidsche Rijn Center under construction are important features.
