Professional magazine Gevelbouw publishes an article about the façade of Zwemcentrum Rotterdam. The façade was designed by Kraaijvanger architect Vincent van der Meulen and realized by facade builder De Groot & Visser. Rotterdam Swimming Center is a unique situation in which a former district office became a swimming pool. The existing façade of the office has been sustainably renovated and kept as much as possible.

The facade of the extension consists of windows with different sizes. De Groot & Visser is responsible for the realization of both the new construction and the renovation of the old building. They have enriched the façade with innovative elements that fit the pool climate. The end result is a building that immediately gives the environment a true metamorphosis.

In the article, architect Vincent van der Meulen speaks briefly about the role of his project in the Hart van Zuid area development. 'We make a big clean-up in the area and say goodbye to the fragmented character of the existing buildings. Instead, clear, solid building blocks will be replaced. ' As a supervisor of the urban plan Hart van Zuid, Kraaijvanger Architects is involved in various transformations and new construction projects in Rotterdam-Zuid. The Swimming Center is the first realized project within this plan. Read the whole article about Zwemcentrum Rotterdam in Gevelbouw!
