Impact in 2024

We are proud to present our Impact Report 2024, which shows how we have worked with our clients, partners and users over the past year to create sustainable, social and future-proof places.

Buildings that purify air, water and soil, generate energy and store CO₂: this is not a distant dream for us, but a clear starting point. We use regenerative and healthy materials and design buildings that support biodiversity and naturally connect with their surroundings. Because time is running out. We are now 97 and have a clear goal in mind: for our 100th anniversary, we want every building we work on to contribute 100% positively to ecology.

In 2024, we shaped solutions to some of today's most pressing social challenges. The future-proof schools in Lelystad and Oman, on which we have worked intensively in recent years, are about to be completed. We designed two very different museums: in Heerlen we realized a new place where the oldest Roman remains in the Netherlands are made accessible, while in Oirschot we designed a completely new museum for the Order of the Franciscan Sisters - a cultural-historical site that brings the rich monastic history to life in a contemporary way.

In Helmond, an inclusive city office was delivered with no less than 99.2% reuse of materials. In Rotterdam, we literally participated in painting the renewal of Hart van Zuid, because participation and connection are also essential for sustainable development. We see each of these projects as an opportunity to make a sector more sustainable, to connect it with nature and to contribute to a liveable future.

Not only in our projects, but also within our own organization, we make conscious choices every day. We do not own cars and come to the office walking, biking or using shared transportation as much as possible. Our working environment is 100% vegetarian, with organic coffee (with oat milk), fresh fruit and personal reusable cups for everyone. Vitality receives structural attention, for example by cycling, running or walking together. During our annual Company Days we take the time to work in a relaxed atmosphere on cooperation, development and job satisfaction, both within teams and on an individual level.

In 2023, we were the first architectural firm in Rotterdam to achieve B Corp certification. This makes us one of the top 10 highest scoring firms within the architecture sector worldwide. As B Corp, we put people and planet first. The pursuit of profit is secondary to this. We continue to challenge ourselves to improve, innovate and inspire. We are also proud of our nomination for the Koning Willem I Award in 2024, the most important award for sustainable and innovative entrepreneurship in the Netherlands.
