What does the office of the future look like? Kraaijvanger looks ahead in the magazine 'future offices' with fascinating interviews, state of the art projects and fragments from the lives of (future) users.
According to Vincent van der Meulen, buildings - and therefore also offices - are a snapshot of the evolving zeitgeist. "Good architecture takes our world view, our social values and social interests and crystallizes it into a physical, permanent building." In 2050 there are probably nine billion people, we are on average nine years older, 70% of the people live in the tad and we need 70% more food worldwide. In an interview Van der Meulen explains how in his view offices can respond to this.
Making people work pleasantly and effectively. That is what Daniela Schelle wants to achieve with her designs. "This means that employees can choose and be facilitated in their work." According to her time it is time for work concepts where the focus is on supporting forms of cooperation instead of the individual. "Working together is more than eight hours side by side."
