RIBA AWARD voor Museum Voorlinden

Museum Voorlinden designed by Dirk Jan Postel, Kraaijvanger Architects is awarded the 2018 RIBA Award for International Excellence. Together with nineteen other projects Museum Voorlinden was selected out of 203 submissions. The RIBA Awards for International Excellence 2018 is the manifest of the variety and quality of global architecture.

Museum Voorlinden is a Dutch independent museum for modern and contemporary art on the Voorlinden Estate in Wassenaar, South Holland. The museum accommodates the art collection of Joop van Caldenborgh, famous for the Caldic Collection, the biggest independent art collection in the Netherlands.

Directly after his royalty Willem Alexander opened Museum Voorlinden in 2016 it was a success. The museum was susprised by numerous visitors. The building is state of the art and famous for its extraordinary light effect achieved by the light roof. The museum earlier won the Roof Award, the Plan Award and the Glass Award. Voorlinden was also nominated for Best Building of the Year and the Leading Culture Destinations Awards. Currently the museum enjoys it’s Herengracht Industrie Prijs nomination.
