Zwart Licht has made a VR tour through the render of the renewed Rotterdam AHOY. In the VR tour a virtual environment has been created that gives a preview of the transformation. Due to the different movement functions, users can walk through the congress halls and take a look at the new conference room. It also becomes clear how the spaces shape when they go into use.

Kraaijvanger Architects will transform Ahoy Rotterdam into a transparent and accessible crowd puller with international allure. The exhibition halls will be renovated and the complex will be expanded with an International Congress Center, consisting of a Popzaal, new catering facilities, foyers and break out rooms for conferences. In three hours the hall can be converted from concert hall to exhibition hall. During concerts there is room for 7000 people in this room, while there is room for 2750 people during a congress or a fair.

The transformation of Ahoy Rotterdam is part of the urban plan Hart van Zuid. Kraaijvanger Architects, as supervisor of this plan, is involved in various projects in the Rotterdam South area. At the start of 2018, the first project of the plan was completed: Zwemcentrum Rotterdam.
