Kraaijvanger is 90 years old this year. Last Thursday, September 7, we celebrated the past, present and the future of Kraaijvanger Architects in the only place where it is possible: Concertgebouw De Doelen. Mayor Aboutaleb and Wilfried de Jong opened the evening after which a crowdfunding campaign was launched for primary school De Schalm in Rotterdam Zuid.

Mayor Aboutaleb recalled the contribution of the Kraaijvanger brothers to the reconstruction. The fact that the then so Catholic office could become so successful "above the rivers" says something about the mentality of Rotterdam, where it is more important than the pillarization. Wilfried de Jong, who grew up during the reconstruction, discovered that he had come into contact with this hard work for a large part of his life. From a nighttime job in the station post building to spending the wages earned there in the shops on the Hoogstraat. After this festive opening it was time for the launch of the crowdfunding for primary school Schalm, including a dance performance by children from group eight of this school where performing arts play an important role. The choreography made especially for the anniversary was a gift for Kraaijvanger as a thank you for the plans that we or we have made to prepare the school building for the future.Read more about this project and how you can contribute. Together with, among others, (former) employees, friends, clients and family members of the founders of Kraaijvanger Architects, there was a long talk, eaten, drunk and danced until the night. Everything in the grandeur of Kraaijvanger's most famous monument. We can look back proudly on the anniversary celebration where not only the eternity value and the importance of architecture were celebrated, but also the crowdfunding reached more than 30% of the target amount by the end of the evening.

Kraaijvanger wants to thank everyone who has celebrated this great anniversary with us and in particular all those who have already contributed to thecrowdfunding for OBS de Schalm. On our Facebook page you will find a photo report of the evening.
