Kraaijvanger

Thursday, May 14, it was 75 years ago that the city center of Rotterdam was bombed. After the war, the Rotterdammers started to work with all their might for reconstruction. An important role was reserved for the founders of our office, Evert (1899) and Herman (1903) Kraaijvanger. The recently launched website wederopbouwrotterdam.nl charts the history of the reconstruction of the eastern city center, with many striking projects as an example. The opening on 18 May 1966 of De Doelen, designed by Kraaijvanger, is considered by the site as perhaps the completion of this period, "the crowning of the reconstruction of the first twenty years after the war."
