Dukenburg Brabantse Poort

Nijmegen

The plan Dukenburg is part of the urbanization of the so called Brabantse Poort in Nijmegen. The new complex is spatial and functional connected to the existing shopping centre. Two residential towers are placed on top of the existing lower volume and one tower stands independently as an outpost on the periphery of the ecological zone.

On ground level 2.700 m2 shopping is added. 1.700 m2 leisure is added on the first level. The new program stands autonomously in front of the existing shopping centre. A semi-public area and a connecting roof form the transition between old and new. In the inbetween-area a central square is created, offering a spatial orientation point.
