Kraaijvanger is looking for a structural designer
The structural engineering design, the green facade of City Office Venlo or the curved hanging glass facade of City Office Utrecht. Just a few of the daily projects at Kraaijvanger Architects. Here you will discover what type of project really suits you as a structural designer.
Willing is possible as a junior structural designer
From museums to school buildings and everything in between. At Kraaijvanger, as a junior structural designer you will work in an independent team on sustainable projects that are at the heart of society. Not by waiting with your arms folded, but by taking matters into your own hands. Show what you excel in. The quicker you master all the knowledge, the sooner you will be given more project responsibility and will specialize further in your focus area. For a minimum of 32 hours per week you will work on:
- the general building technical elaboration in the various design stages
- the modeling and management of the building design in a BIM environment
- The realization and management of drawings in an AO- TO- and UO-phase of a project
- The technical quality of our built projects
- Working with an enthusiastic and ambitious team
We are Kraaijvanger Architects
An architectural office with Rotterdam roots. Today our office consists of 60 practical idealists working on a variety of projects. We are not dreamers, but doers who create socially engaged architecture. Think of public buildings, public interiors and vital districts. From chair to city. Our goal? To create buildings and spaces with character and lasting beauty. We want people to work, live and learn more happily in sustainable buildings that enhance their surroundings. The more complex the project, the more we like to get stuck in. And all that in the heart of Rotterdam, within walking distance of Blaak train station.
Your team consists of about 8 colleagues who all excel in their own field. They are all experts, for example a technical project leader or sustainability specialist. Hierarchy is therefore not in our dictionary and everyone is responsible for his or her own part. Although we throw you in at the deep end, we don't let you drown. Especially in the first period, you will be paired with a senior. Someone who tells you all the ins and outs about our company and, above all, acts as your life jacket. Not that you need anything like that...
What about you?
You are a practical idealist, just like us. Someone who seizes opportunities and makes independent work of them. You love design and are aware of the importance of good details. You have an eye for the properties of materials and you look for possibilities and solutions. You are not easily deterred. In fact, you dare to think outside the box. This is how you continue to develop as a specialist. By means of training you can develop yourself further. We encourage you to develop further, for example into a project manager. What do we ask for?
- A TU Construction Engineering or HBO construction engineering degree
- A maximum of 3 years work experience in a similar position.
- Demonstrable experience with Revit
- You will work for us at least 32 hours a week!
- The Dutch language is your second nature.
Taking the initiative is rewarded
The path of your career at Kraaijvanger Architects is entirely up to you. In return for your hard work you can expect a nice reward. As a structural designer you will be paid on the basis of a 40-hour week:
- Salary according to CLA
- 30 vacation days
- A training budget so you can continue to specialize
- pension accrual
- An excellent bonus scheme.
- A 9 months contract to start with.
- Travel allowance for public transport if you live outside Rotterdam (up to a maximum of 50 kilometers one way in 2nd class).
Every wall has an open door
Show us immediately that you can take matters into your own hands. Do you have any questions? Please contact Bas Niese, managing partner at 010 498 92 92 or email@example.com.
What does the application procedure look like? During the first interview we'll take a look at your portfolio, discuss your ambitions and collect your references. This first interview is with your immediate colleagues. Have we become even more enthusiastic? Then we have a second interview with David Hess and Bas Niese, where we discuss the final points. Who knows, we might soon be toasting to your new job!
