Business development manager

16.03.2021

Combining the creative world of architecture with complex business issues. With your inspiring ideas, you win one large, innovative commission after another for Kraaijvanger Architects. That makes you proud as a full-time business development manager.

Willing is possible as a business development manager

Bringing in a large housing project or answering a request from a government agency or developer. Whatever the business question, you have the solution. You show with conviction that Kraaijvanger Architects is the best choice to work with. In fact, you translate an issue in the right words into an irresistible offer to the client and at the same time into a crystal clear briefing for the architecture team. Storytelling is your strength for bringing innovative ideas to life and strengthening the relationship with the client. And that's not all, because you also know exactly what is happening in the market. Do you spot an opportunity? Then you make immediate use of it by presenting your ideas. In addition, you take responsibility for

- expanding your customer portfolio and maintaining current customer relationships.

- Making financial proposals, action plans and commercial presentations for potential clients.

- monitoring quality and deadlines. Only the best is good enough to realise our objectives.

- Making contact and giving pitches during trade fairs.

We are Kraaijvanger Architects

An architectural firm with Rotterdam roots. Literally, because Kraaijvanger Architects has been a household name here since 1927. Nowadays our office is filled with 60 practical idealists working on a variety of projects. We are no dreamers, but doers who create socially engaged architecture. Think of public buildings, public interiors and vital city districts. From chair to city. Our goal? To create buildings and spaces with character and lasting beauty. We want people to work, live and learn more happily in sustainable buildings that enhance their surroundings. The more complex the project, the more we like to get stuck in. And all that in the heart of Rotterdam, within walking distance of Blaak train station.

You will strengthen the commercial team of Kraaijvanger Architects. As business development manager, you work together with all the architecture and tender teams. The term hierarchy is not in our dictionary, because we all go for the best result. You even notice this drive while working at home, for example during our weekly video conferences. That way, everyone is up-to-date on the latest developments.

And what about you?

You spot opportunities from miles away, excel with your results-oriented mindset and communication skills. Not because you wait for someone to approach you. No, you prefer to take matters into your own hands. You dare to make choices in order to realise our set goals. You also like working with deadlines, you set the right priorities and you know how to get a deal out of every proposal. Ambitious? You certainly are. That is what keeps you sharp as a business development manager. You are also in possession of:

- a completed higher professional or university education in urban development, architecture and/or Management in the Built Environment (or comparable)

- A minimum of 3 years' experience in urban development, architecture and/or real estate. Preferably combined with a business administration background.

Taking the initiative is rewarded

Admittedly, we ask a lot of you as a business development manager. At Kraaijvanger Architects you can expect to be rewarded for this. You will receive from us on the basis of a 40-hour working week

- a gross monthly salary in accordance with your profile

- a training budget so that you can further specialise and develop yourself

- a bonus scheme

- a travel allowance

- 30 holiday days

- pension accrual

Do you have any questions about this position? Please feel free to contact Bas Niese, managing partner on 06 - 51 15 47 87 or basniese@kraaijvanger.nl.

What does the application procedure look like? During the first interview, you'll get to know Bas and another architect partner. Have we become even more enthusiastic? Then a second interview will follow to discuss the final points. You will also get the chance to talk to a (future) colleague. Who knows, we might soon be toasting to your new job!
