"The Jaarbeurszijde of Utrecht CS has been the place to be for half a year now." Anka van Voorthuijsen writes this in an article about the stand staircase in ArchitectuurNL 7/14. According to her, the entrance / exit on the Jaarbeurs side was long a location to pass as quickly as possible. A true non-place. But Stationsplein West has been totally transformed since half a year. "People agree." The large stairs - including a large bicycle shed- are used as a lunch spot or as a place to sit and watch what is happening at the foot of the grandstand.
