The new energy-neutral Zuidplas town hall was delivered three weeks earlier than planned. Councilor Daan de Haas received the key on 8 April from the new organization of the municipal organization designed by Kraaijvanger Architects.
"Kraaijvanger Architects has created a beautiful, contemporary, very sustainable design which is distinctive in form, color, material and appearance at the Raadhuisplein in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. It fully meets our expectations and the fact that we now have one of the most sustainable town halls in the Netherlands makes me very proud, and with complete satisfaction I can now release the building to the municipal administration, the civil service organization and of course the residents and entrepreneurs of Zuidplas. ”
Now that Heembouw has finished its work, the finishing touches can be put to the layout in the coming period. After the summer break, the city council will meet for the first time in the new town hall.
Open to the public
The public can meet their new town hall on Saturday 8th of June. The town hall is open at Raadhuisplein in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel between 1 and 5 p.m. More information about the opening program will follow via the municipal information channels.
