Glass House

Almelo

The glass house stands among 200 other detached houses in a urban setting. The design is based on a repetition of rooms on the first floor in 6 equal bays. An obligatory 3.0 m. is left on either side of the parcel, stretching the plan to its maximum width. Circulation zones on each floor are diagonally linked by the staircase.

The house is covered by panels of silk-screened glass that conceal private life, avoiding any expression of open and closed, except for the entrance area. After dark, the artificial light of the interior pierces out, displayed by the dotted pattern
