Cradle to Cradle offers a fantastic vision of how to deal with materials. The secret lies in its practical applications. At the moment it is not (yet) possible to build full cradle to cradle buildings. However, developments are quick and provide new insights. We are at the forefront and have active contacts with suppliers and clients, helping to accelerate innovation. The Venlo municipality office in this respect is one of the most promising projects in Europe.
Each project offers a new chance to evolve. We know how to organize and plan this process, to get a grip on the cycle of materials, water and energy from the very start of the design. We also have the know how to detail and to mix cradle to cradle materials with each other. In many interior projects we already apply many cradle to cradle materials like carpets, furniture and some wood types without any problem.
In ongoing projects such as the self sufficient floating house, we have gone much further, and already 63% of the weight of the building consists of cradle to cradle materials. In the Municipality office in Venlo an unprecedented amount of cradle to cradle materials will be applied.
