As an answer to the urbanization demand for 200.000 new residences in the province of Noord-Holland to 2040, a concept is designed by Kraaijvanger • Urbis. The concept amplifies the two principal forms of urbanization. Namely improvement of the agglomerations towards coherent urban districts and small scale developments of the valuable landscape. The design contains three new types of urban landscapes: dune and marsh landscape with small residential cores, ribbon villages in a floating landscape and IJsselmeer villages with floating residential environments.
Met water worden nieuwe landschappen, gemaakt, ontsloten en uitvergroot. Nieuwe vormen van wonen in combinatie met recreatie en natuurontwikkeling worden gecreëerd. Een duurzame ontwikkeling door een veilige duurzame en waterhuishouding, nieuwe natuur en recreatie gebieden, mobilteitsreductie door efficiënte agglomeraties en de mogelijkheden voor een duurzame energievoorziening.
