Polyclinic het Dok

The assignment for het Dok in Rotterdam consist of an interior design for 2,300 square meter spread over five floors. Besides the various outpatient departments the assignment includes a new entrance area with a reception, waiting rooms and a conference/lunch room.

The design of Annemiek Bleumink together with Kraaijvanger consists out of a clear logical structure, with the main entrance on the ground floor, as the heart of the building. From the bright, welcoming entrance-area all functions can be reached. The reception plays a central role in the entrance- area. The desk gives a direct view on the two waiting areas and is connected to the Secretariat and the back office.

Both waiting rooms are provided with reading tables and wall benches are placed as a grand gesture. The apartments are positioned on different floors, live up to the ‘new way of working’’ requirements. Visibility and optimal use of daylight are key figures in the design. Each department has its own identity in materials and color.
