Garden house for Reflection, Dordrecht (NL)
Vincent van der Meulen with Robbert Jan van der Veen (Plein06 )
The “Garden house for Reflection” offers an inspiring environment where people of all religions and philosophies find a place to think – a place of tranquillity. The place does not refer to a specific religion, but instead celebrates the similarities: astonishment, light and the relation between men and nature. The design refers to the common, brick garden house. The garden house for reflection however is everything but common: a fragile, glass building where the bricks appear to float, that reflects and offers discernment.
Inside three movable and adjustable chairs give the visitor the opportunity to choose his position and relation, to find his place and to create his personal preferences for concentration, meditation and reflection. A pleasant surprise in the middle of the city – a place to remember.
