Head office Asito, Almelo (NL)
Vincent van der Meulen
Asito is one of the largest facility services providers in the Netherlands. The new head quarter has to accommodate three different departments, each with their own working culture and character, who together communicate one corporate image. The building takes a prominent location on the ring road, at the end of the city entrance: the Rhijnbeek location: an ultimate landmark location in Almelo. A location all about movement of traffic, dynamics and protection against it.
The design is based on a clear, logistic corridor that connects all parts of the building and focuses on meeting and internal transparency. A series of screens positioned around the ellipse offers protection, but is opened up at strategic spots. The gap between the ring and the screens forms the office space, thus creating a very diverse working environment where three different spatial office concepts can be distinguished: the tower, the inner ring and the outer ring. This way each department gets its own location within the building with its very own character, while at the same time forming one powerful design.
The building is completely lifted, facilitating parking underneath the building and cars disappear from the street scene. On ground floor only the entrance and showroom where guest are being welcomed before entering the work floor are situated. The building is compact, optimizes natural light and offers many opportunities for further sustainable development.
